Senior Software Developer / Software Architect (AI-Native development)
About the role
Harvia has just entered the new era — the digital sauna experience — by building intelligent digital products, connected IoT devices, a powerful cloud ecosystem and integrating with wearables.
Harvia Finland Oy is looking for a Senior Software Developer / Software Architect to join Harvia’s new AI-native software development team in Finland.
You will be a founding member of a small, high-impact team that defines how we build, operate, and evolve digital sauna experiences — from connected devices to mobile apps, integrating with wearables and cloud platforms.
This is not traditional software development. We are building the future of development itself — using AI agents, LLMs, and automation tools to code, test, deploy, and learn faster than ever before.
What You’ll Do
- Architect, design, and implement modern digital solutions for Harvia’s connected sauna ecosystem and develop the sauna control devices software.
- Drive adoption and orchestrate AI-native development workflows (e.g., code-generation agents, AI-assisted architecture planning, automated testing, and deployment).
- Collaborate with our in-house developers in Finland, Germany and the USA, and with our external development partners in Finland and other countries.
- Work closely with the Head of Digital & Devices (Perttu Rönkkö) to shape product roadmaps and technical direction.
- Mentor and support junior developers in AI-assisted development practices.
- Define how AI will transform Harvia’s software engineering culture.
Our technology stack
- Frontend: React/React Native, Typescript, REST & GraphQL, Web/Android/iOS, Playwright UI test automation
- Backend: AWS, serverless/AWS Lambda, containers, Node.js, Typescript, Python, REST & GraphQL APIs, Github Actions based CI&CD, Serverless & Terraform
- Device/firmware: FreeRTOS & embedded Linux, C/C++/Rust/Python, ESP32/STM32/NXP i.MX
Your Background
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering (cloud, web, mobile, or IoT).
- Experience designing scalable cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Solid understanding of modern frameworks (Node.js, React, TypeScript, Python, or similar).
- Experience and deep interest in AI-assisted development, LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or agentic workflows.
- Familiarity with API development and integration — ideally with cloud or IoT systems.
- A growth mindset and curiosity for applying AI to real-world engineering challenges.
- Fluent in English and/or Finnish.
Why Join Harvia?
